LGBTQ/a>/em> is a term that collectively represents people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (or those questioning their gender identity or sexuality). There are many variations of the abbreviation (such as <em>LGBTQ+<\/em> and <em>LGBTQIA<\/em>) intended to represent those who identify in different ways (such as intersex, asexual, pansexual, intergender, aromantic, nonbinary, and two-spirit, among many other <a href=https://www.dictionary.com/"https:////www.dictionary.com//browse//heteronormative/">nonheteronormative/a> identities that have traditionally been marginalized and discriminated against). <em>LGBTQ History Month<\/em> is typically considered to encompass all such identities.\r\n\r\n<em>LGBTQ History Month<\/em> is different from <a href=https://www.dictionary.com/"https:////www.dictionary.com//e//historical-current-events//pride-month///">Pride Month<\/a> (sometimes called <em>LGTBQ<\/em> <em>Pride<\/em> <em>Month<\/em>), which is celebrated in June.
